The main goal of the DeepCleanTech project was to facilitate the definition of process solutions through integrated modeling expertise and experimental testing. The measures will also make it possible to identify risks and improve the effectiveness of microbiological applications. The study focused on the removal of nitrogen (ND process) and sulfate (SRB process) from mining wastewater. The project has received funding from Business Finland’s Co-innovation funding program. VTT has been responsible for the project and the Savonia Environmental Technology Unit has been the co-implementer.
