New lysimeter measurement field will be built at Luke’s Maaninka site in Kuopio. Ecologically sustainable food production requires reliable information on its environmental impact produced in Finland. Together with ERDF funding from the Northern Savonia Regional Council, Luke is investing in Maaninga’s strong water expertise, and the site’s lysimeter measurement field will be completely reconstructed during the autumn.

The lysimeter measurement field is part of Luke’s grass production system research, which combines the entire production chain from the field to the barn and back, taking into account the water impacts of production.
